Why ZIP Stretch Tape?

Regular flashing tape doesn’t stretch. When you hit a sill pan corner, a window curve, or a pipe penetration, you’re cutting, folding, and overlapping — creating potential leak points at every joint. ZIP Stretch Tape eliminates that problem: it stretches in all directions to conform around complex shapes in one continuous piece. One piece = zero lap joints = zero leak paths.

Important: ZIP System Tape Is Not Interchangeable with DuPont

ZIP System Stretch Tape uses an acrylic adhesive engineered specifically for Huber ZIP sheathing panels. Using a different tape on ZIP sheathing voids the 30-year system warranty. Conversely, this tape is designed for ZIP sheathing — don’t use it on plywood or OSB where a butyl tape like DuPont is the right choice.

Installation Notes

J-roller is mandatory. ZIP Stretch Tape uses acrylic adhesive that requires firm pressure to activate the bond. Roll every inch after application.

For sill pans: start at the center of the sill, stretch outward to each corner, and fold up the jambs in one piece. No cuts needed — the stretch does the work.

Do not use as a substitute for ice & water barrier on roofs.

Coverage — How Far Does One Roll Go?

One 6″ × 75 ft roll covers approximately 13 window sill pans (figured at ~5.5 ft per sill with stretch). On a typical house with 15-20 windows, one roll handles most of the sills — you may need a second roll for the larger openings and doors.
